Victoria Hall are hosing a 'Celebration Of Ken Forrest' an Oakham artist and keen volunteer at Victoria Hall who will soon be moving to Scotland.

To celebrate the work and dedication of Mr Forrest, the Victoria Hall team are hosting an exhibition of his work this week, with pieces viable to purchase.

Ken Forrest has lived in Oakham since 2003, but started his watercolour journey over 30 years ago.

Ken paints in the traditional English style of watercolours and, as an active member of the Welland Vale Art Society, has exhibited locally across the county.

On top of this, he taught in London in 1995, having also taught classes across Northampton and Rutland.

A spokesperson for Victoria Hall said: "Ken has also been an active Wednesday volunteer at the Victoria Hall and a great contributor to the gallery with his exquisite details in local countryside pieces.

"Ken, alongside his wife Norah, is making the move to Scotland to be nearer their family and to start another exciting chapter in their lives. This final exhibition here at the gallery is a celebration of his work, a recognition and thanks for his contributions to the Victoria Hall and local art scene.

"We wish Ken all the best with the move and long may he continue his watercolour journey with new inspiration."

Rutland residents can come and view the exhibition or purchase their very own piece of Ken Forrest artwork from the gallery this week.
