Volunteers supporting the Covid-19 vaccination team at Rutland Late Night Pharmacy have thanked 'great' customers and asked for patience from those facing frustration at appointment-only vaccination clinics.
The team at Rutland Late Night Pharmacy and volunteers with Rutland Lions Club are once again working hard to administer Covid-19 vaccinations as the winter draws in, but have asked visitors to be respectful of the volunteers and staff giving their time.
Lorna, a volunteer with The Lions Club of Rutland, said: "We have spent many hours each day this week volunteering on behalf of the Lions Club of Rutland at the Late Night Pharmacy in Oakham, the only place offering the latest Covid Vaccination.
"The clinic is offering vaccinations by appointment only, which you can book by ringing 119 or going on your NHS app.
"The majority of people have been really appreciative but I cannot understand the rudeness of some people. Please do not take our time as volunteers for granted, we do actually make it easier for the wonderful vaccinators."
Lorna added that, while most visitors have been nothing but appreciative of the volunteers, and that the team understanding the stress that can come when your health is concerned, that the team would ask attendees to the vaccination clinic to be respectful and polite.
Vaccines are also being offered by appointment only in Melton and Corby. For more information, call 119 or search on the NHS app.
Lorna concluded: "On the whole, people have been great, and it is only the minority being rude. Sadly it is the odd ones that can upset you, and as volunteers, they should remember that we give up our time for free to try and help the best we can."
