A walk in aid of local charities is set to go ahead this weekend.

On Sunday 30 July, The Rotary Club of Uppingham will be enjoying their annual walk around Eyebrook Reservoir in support of local charities, and you are invited to join the fundraising frolics. At this year's event, the team have chosen to support LOROS as their main charity.

LOROS provides free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers across Leicestershire and Rutland.

Last month, the Oakham branch of the popular charity shop reopened after being closed for refurbishment in March. While the shop was closed, the team and their goods, including clothing, furniture, ornaments, sewing patters, crafts, books, antiques and more, were located at the Uppingham store.

Now, The Rotary Club of Uppingham want to say a big 'thank you' to the teams of both shops by raising much-needed funds to support the local care services provided by the charity.

The 5 mile charity walk will skirt around the beautiful Eyebrook Reservoir on the borders of Rutland and Leicestershire, passing through the restricted access Eyebrook Nature Reserve and allowing attendees to catch the stunning views along the way.

It is expected to take two hours, with the group hoping to finish in time for lunch.
