There are a huge range of events going on in Oakham this Easter, from Easter Egg hunts and family-friendly activities to celebrations of food and drink coinciding with the long weekend.

Chocolate Easter Platter at Radish

The team at Rutland Garden Centre are upgrading their brunch platter this Easter!

From Friday 7 April, enjoy waffles, pancakes, Easter eggs, biscuits, marshmallows, fruit, chocolate, and more.

Available on Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Monday 10 April from 9am to 4pm - call Radish on 01572 770632 or email [email protected] to book your table! 

The cost for this is only £12.50 pp.

Real Ale Festival

Returning on Friday 7, Saturday 8, Sunday 9 and Monday 10 of April 2023 is The Grainstore Craft Lager, Ale & Gin Festival.

Four days celebrating two of the biggest growing sectors in the UK drinks market, with live music and great food served all weekend. Over 20 craft lagers will be on tap and hand pull, as well as 50 Gins being available all weekend.

Enjoy great craft beers in both keg and cask, and fantastic gins featuring local surprises.

Easter at Rocks by Rail

Enjoy an Open Day, Easter Bunny Hunt and Take a trip on The Rutlander train at Rocks By Rail this easter Sunday, 9 April 2023. 

Rocks By Rail, Ashwell Road, Oakham LE15 7FF

Open 10am until 4pm and admission costs £4 per child and £6 per adult.

Easter Sunday Lunch at Rutland Hall Hotel

This Easter Sunday 9 April, Rutland Hall Hotel will be serving a delicious three-course menu in their new, stylish, Blossoms Restaurant. 

The Easter Bunny will be hopping by and children will be invited to join in with an Easter Egg Hunt and explore their 65 acres of parkland.

Adults will cost £35pp, and children £19.50 per child under 12 for half portion, or choose from children's menu.

Easter at Rockingham Castle

There will be plenty of Egg-citement at Rockingham Castle as the Castle & Gardens opens this Easter Bank Holiday!

Collect your leaflet and start exploring the Gardens to seek out their Easter Trail and win yourself an Easter Egg. Billy The Bunny will also be joining visitors around the gardens, so make sure you say hello!

Delicious refreshments will be served on site, with stunning views across the Welland Valley, perfect for picnics.

The Castle will also be open throughout the day to explore too.

Virtual Easter Egg Hunt

Back after four years: The Lions Club of Rutland Virtual Easter Egg Hunt!

Based out of Oakham Library on Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 and Friday 14 of April between 10am and 3pm, the theme this year is Numbers and Maths. 

To fully enjoy you'll need a smart phone with WhatsApp enabled. The Hunt is ideally for children accompanied by parents or grandparents and is based around Oakham's Heritage Trail.

The below image is one of the 20 Virtual eggs you are looking for around the trail, each one with a question you have to answer and report back via WhatsApp to win real Easter eggs:
