Quiz Night at The Plough

The Plough's weekly quiz night will be taking place ahead of the weekend on Thursday 16 November. 

The event costs £1 per person to enter, max 6 person per team. 

Winning team get a round of drinks, and all teams go into a draw to crack the safe, so you don't even have to 'know it all' to be in with a chance to win big.

Wednesday Night Bingo will soon be taking place every other Monday, as the pub gets ready to have a change of opening hours.

Thursday Night Dinner at The Fox and Hounds

The Fox and Hounds will be hosting their £12 Thursday special again on 16 November.

This week's dish is venison sausages and mash, and you can enjoy a £3 Atlantic Pale Ale and other discounted drinks too.

Head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.

On 15 November, the team also launched their Christmas menu, so get booked in now to avoid disappointment!

Mill Street Late Night Shopping

On 17 November, a cohort of Mill Street shops will be opening from 4pm until late for their annual Late Night Shopping event.

Shops joining the fun will include Mango & The Moon, Gladwells, Snapdragon, Darn Knit and many more - and with The Angler now under new ownership, there has never been a better time to check out the fun to be had on Oakham's Mill Street.

Don't forget to take a wander into The Maltings too, where shops will be joining the fun...

Rutland Fairtrade Christmas Market

The annual Rutland Fairtrade Christmas Market returns to Oakham Castle on Saturday 18 November, from 10am to 3pm.

With stalls offering a fabulous variety of Fairtrade and ethically traded products from around the world, the Market will be an ideal opportunity to stock up on gifts and foods in the run up to Christmas. 

The Market has been running for more than ten years, becoming well-established as a popular event in the seasonal calendar. There will be a huge variety of items on sale, including food and drink, clothes, accessories, jewellery, crafts, toys, aromatherapy products and Christmas decorations.

Oakham in Bloom Quiz Night - CANCELLED

Oakham in Bloom's annual quiz night is back for 2023! Come along for the quiz night where your ticket price of only £12.50 includes a fish and chip dinner. 

The team changed the date from 28 Oct to 18 Nov so that they didn't clash with the Rugby World Cup final - so there is no excuse to miss this anticipated annual event!

The quiz starts at 7pm and raises funds for the local gardening group to continue making Oakham look beautiful with blooms all year round.
