First Timers' Parkrun

On Saturday 14 January, Rutland Water Parkrun are hosting a First Timers' event. Experienced Parkrunners are also welcome.

Rutland Water Parkrun is held at Normanton Church and starts at 9.00am. The team suggest you arrive at 8.30 for a meet and greet at the Waterside Café and briefing at 8.50am.

After the event, runners are welcome to stay for a coffee and a chat in the café.

parkrun is completely free, and you'll also be given a token for a discounted parking price of £1.

This event will be taking place on Saturday 14 January 2023 from 8:30am.

Winnie the Pooh weekend at Sacrewell Farm

Just a short drive down the road, at Sacrewell Farm, the team are hosting a celebration of AA Milne, author of Winnie the Pooh, on what would have been his 141st birthday.

Enjoy plenty of free activities including:

  • Winnie the Pooh story time
  • Make your own recycled bee hotel
  • Visit Pooh Stick bridge
  • Self-led bee trail around Sacrewell

All activities are included in your daily admission and will be taking place on 14 and 15 January 2023.

Tickets cost £9.50 for adults, with under 2's going free.

Idle hands at The Grainstore

On Saturday 14th January from 8.30pm, head down to the Grainstore Brewery and Taprooms to watch live music from local band, Idle Hands.

Idle Hands are a 5-piece indie/rock/pop covers band based in the East Midlands consisting of both a female and male lead singer, blending classic indie, pop and rock tunes. Covering artists such as Oasis, Amy Winehouse, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Florence + the machine and many more.
