Annual seed swap at Oakham Castle

On Saturday 8th February, between 11am and 1pm, the annual seed swap will take place at the Great Hall in Oakham Castle.

Bring and share your spare seeds, pick up some spare seeds from local gardens or get some valuable gardening advice. You will also be able to meet volunteers from Root and Branchout and the volunteers who tend to the sensory garden at Oakham Castle.

Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. There is no need to book, this event is free for all. For more information, click here.

Soundbath at Exton Village Hall

Do you need to switch off and take some 'you time' to relax? Try a Soundbath at Exton Village Hall on Saturday 8th February to release your stress and tension.

Sound baths use the ancient art of sound healing to create a calming and rebalancing experience for the body and mind. Sessions begin with a little breath work and a short guided meditation to calm the body and still the mind. Then relax surrounded by the healing sounds of the Singing Bowl, Gong, Hand pan, Shamanic Drum, Sansula, Koshi Bells and Rainstick.

Wild Wellbeing Walk

Hosted by MindEmbody in collaboration with the Oakham Green Canal Corridor Project, the Wild Wellbeing Walk is taking place from 10am on Saturday 8th February.

This walk is to encourage you to be at one with nature, connecting with yourself and the world around you.

The wellbeing walk will include breath work, sharing circles and still spot practice to notice the sensory experience of being in nature and to connect with yourself and the earth.

An Evening with Prickleback Urchins Hedgehog Rescue

On Friday 7th February from 7:15pm, husband and wife team Rachel and Jason will be giving a talk about their brilliant home-based hedgehog rehabilitation centre.

They work hard to rescue and rehabilitate sick and injured hedgehogs, as well as spreading important information and educating local people about how to better care for local hedgehog populations.

This event will take place in Easton on the Hill village hall with tickets costing £10 on the door. Ticket price includes a glass of wine and there will also be a cash bar and raffle with all proceeds going to support Prickleback Urchins Hedgehog Rescue.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on Thursday 23rd January. This week they are serving up home cooked Greek-style chicken gyros with hand cut chips and minty tzatziki. There will also be vegetarian halloumi gyros.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.

The Wisteria Hotel is hosting a Wedding Showcase on Sunday 16th February.
