Enjoy a huge range of events this weekend in Oakham, from festive carolling to family-friendly feasts, and free live music at popular local venue The Grainstore.

Nine Lessons and Carols

Head to All Saints' Church, Church Street, Oakham, for a family-friendly, traditional service of Nine Lessons and carols on Thursday 15 December at 7:30pm.

Breakfast with Santa

Kicking-off a jam-packed Saturday of events The Plough in Greetham are hosting Breakfast with Santa on Saturday 17 December 2022.

Kids and adults can enjoy a cooked breakfast, and let the children be entertained and get a gift from the big man himself!

Booking is essential, so call 01572 813613 to guarantee a spot. 

This event will run from 9am until 11:30am.

Ovation Christmas Wreath Making

Join Bianca, Chris and the team on Saturday 17 December for an afternoon of Wreath making at Ovation Wine & Spirit Bar, Gaol Street, Oakham.

Make the ultimate Christmas wreath to decorate your home. 

You will get a welcome drink on arrival and can make the 'ultimate wreath to decorate your home' - as well as a great Christmassy atmosphere!

The event starts at 2pm and tickets cost £55 each.

Ovation will be selling a wide range of festive drinks throughout Christmas and New Year.

Funked Up at The Grainstore

Next up, head to The Grainstore for an evening of live music from popular local band, Funked Up - who cover crowd-pleasing classics including tunes from Bruno Mars, The Beatles, and many more.

The team will be serving food before the show and drinks throughout.

The evening starts at 8:30pm on 17th December 2022.

Charity Santa Bike Ride

Join the Rutland Water team for some festive fun on Sunday 18 December at 10am for their 8-mile Charity Santa Bike Ride, supporting Mind Nottingham.

Riders will meet at Specialized Rutland Water and cycle to Rutland Cycling Whitwell, enjoy some warm drinks and mince pies, as well as treats for the kids. Then you will take a steady pedal back to Normanton on the traffic-free cycle route.

All ages and abilities are welcome at the event, which costs only £5 per family. The team are offering a festive £5 offer on bike hire.

Fancy dress is optional but encouraged, with a prize for the best costume and best-dressed bike!
