What's on in Oakham this weekend: Father's Day galore and live music at Cutts Close

Take dad out to celebrate Father's Day in style this weekend with a railway open day, a nature trail, and a range of great foodie events.

Alternatively, head down to Cutts Close to join in with the free weekly live music for the whole community.

Rocks By Rail Open Day

On Sunday the 19th of June, Rocks By Rail are hosting a unique Father's Day open event.

Visitors can learn about the history of local locomotives, and take dad on a Outlander train.

Entry prices are:

Adult                       £10

Child                       £6

Family                   £ 25    (Two adults + up to 3 children)

Plus take dad on a Diesel Driver for a Fiver.

Grainstore Father's Day Lunch and Brewery Tour

The Grainstore Brewery are hosting a Father's Day lunch and brewery tour on the 19th of June 2022.

Join the team at The Grainstore and treat your dad to a day out in a brewery!

Lunch will be served from midday with the opportunity for the dads to pour their own pints, followed by a tour of the brewery with Head brewer Rory Gibson at 3pm for dad plus one further guest.

Entry is free, so we will see you there!

Father's Day at Barnsdale Gardens

Also on the 19th of June, Barnsdale Gardens are hosting at Father's Day Brunch and Nature Trail event.

Brunch begins at 10:30am.

The Nature Trail will be open from 9am until 5pm.

Dad's get free entry for the day, when accompanied by a child; so bring your dad for a specially laid out breakfast, where when you buy one, he gets his free. Enjoy a hearty cooked full English breakfast, along with fresh pastries, chilled fruit juice and unlimited tea and coffee.

Live Music at Cutts Close

On top of all of these cracking Father's Day events, live music will be returning to Cutts Close.

Organised by Oakham Town Council, the live music will take place every Sunday from 2:30pm until 4:30pm.

On Sunday the 19th of June, popular local band Houndogs will be playing, so head down for some rock 'n rolling fun for the whole family.
