There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend, from a candle painting and fizz at Ovation, Magic Night and the For Rutland Good and New Clothes Sale.

Magic Night at The White Lion Inn in Whissendine
Join The White Lion for a brilliant evening of magic up close at your table. With 6 magicians throughout the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner while you watch.

The For Rutland Good and New Clothes Sale at Rutland Hall Hotel
The For Rutland Good and New Clothes Sale is returning for another year, this time a new home in Rutland Hall Hotel on 28th and 29th March.
The clothes sale, which has been running since 1965, will be raising vital funds for Citizens Advice to pay for Specialist Advisors to provide non-medical advice to people of all ages living with long-term health conditions in Rutland and the surrounding community.
The Good and New Sale will take place over two days, with a special Friday Night Shopping Evening with a glass of champagne and canapes for attendees provided by Hambleton Hall, creating a luxury shopping experience and the first chance to check out the clothes. For the Friday, advanced tickets are £25 per person.
On Saturday 29th March between 8.30am and 1pm, the Saturday Savers event will take place with tickets costing just £5 and almost all pieces half price.

Rutland Choral Society Spring Concert
Taking place at Oakham School Chapel on Saturday 29th March, Rutland Choral Society's Spring Concert will showcase a variety of talents directed by Jamie Conway.
The concert will be a mix of beautiful choral music with professional soloists accompanied by the Orchestra of the Raikes Consort.

Mother's Day Sunday Lunch at the Wisteria Hotel
Treat mum to a delicious Sunday Lunch in the beautiful setting of the Wisteria's Restaurant. As a special touch from the Wisteria, every Mum enjoying a special lunch will receive a complimentary gift.
Wisteria are putting on a special menu for Mother's Day, including their popular Sunday roast, a variety of favourite starters and mains, as well as a selection of desserts based on the chef's mum's favourite recipes. The full menu can be found here.

Mother's Day Candle Painting and High Tea at Ovation
Ovation in Oakham are hosting a candle painting workshop with a high tea buffet and bubbles. The workshop will be run by local artist and business owner Gretel from Gretel Marlene Design Studio.
This event will take place from 2pm on Mothering Sunday, perfect for allowing family time in the morning. Participants will enjoy a fun and relaxed atmosphere while painting three candles to take home. This will be followed by a sweet and savoury high tea. Bubbles will be served on arrival.
This event costs £55 and will take place at Ovation. Places can be booked through Ovation.
Mother's Day at Rutland Farm Park
Looking to spend Mother's Day a little differently? Visit Rutland Farm Park for their special Mother's Day deal. On 29th and 30th March, bring your mum free with a paying guest to celebrate Mother's Day. Whether mum loves petting the guinea pigs or feeding the pigs, head to the farm park for a relaxing day in the great outdoors.
Once you've explored the farm, enjoy refreshments at Daphne's Tea Rooms.
Mother's Day carvery at Radish Rutland
Looking to enjoy a special meal this Mother's Day? Radish at Rutland Garden Village is serving up a delicious carvery. The lunch will include a selection of meats, roast potatoes, creamy mash, maple glazed carrots and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sauteed greens, Yorkshire puddings, braised red cabbage and gravy. There will also be a nut roast available.
Lunch will be served between 12pm and 4pm with a free glass of fizz for Mum.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds
The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 27th March 2025. This week they are serving up pulled duck and spring onion pancakes with hoi sin plum sauce, special fried rice and picked cucumber.
