Dancing in the Isles with Uppingham Jazz and Soul Band

On Saturday 28th June, Uppingham Jazz and Soul band are holding a special concert at All Saint's Church, Oakham from 7.30pm.

This concert promises BIG SOUND with their three vocalists and 25 strong band performing their favourite jazz, soul and big band hits.

Rutland CAMRA Beer Festival at Rutland County Museum

From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, Rutland CAMRA are holding their 12th annual beer festival.

This popular local event will take place at Rutland County Museum and include live music every day, dance performances, an incredible variety of key and cask beers, ciders and perries as well as hot and cold food.

Rutland Remembers: Oakham celebrates VE and VJ Day 80th Anniversary

This weekend, Rutland will mark the 80th anniversaries of Victory in Europe and Victory over Japan Day with celebrations taking place this weekend.

On Saturday 28th June, Oakham will mark Armed Forces Day with a gathering at the Armed Forces and Veterans' Breakfast Club at The Grainstore from 9am. This special event invites veterans and serving personnel to connect and reflect over a hearty breakfast.

On Sunday 29th June, the main celebrations will be started with a parade from Oakham Castle to All Saints Church at 10am. The parade will include representatives from the Armed Forces, veterans, cadets, Scouts, Guides and representatives from towns and villages across the county. Residents are invited to line the High Street for a view of the procession. 

At 10.30am, there will be a Church Service of Thanksgiving at All Saints Church, welcoming everyone to join in prayers of gratitude and remembrance. 

From 12 noon until 5pm, The Party in the Park will take place in Cutts Close Park, Oakham. This lively event will include live music, performances by the Army Cadet Corps of Drums, a spectacular RAF Lancaster Flypast, funfair, vintage military vehicles and refreshment stalls.

Arts and Crafts Pop-Up Fair

The Hub at Rutland Point are hosting an Arts and Crafts Pop-Up on Saturday 28th June with lots of stalls selling crafts and gifts.

This event is free to attend with free parking.
