Rutland schools take aim at inequality with help from Rumble Live

In a brilliant display of teamwork, the Rutland School Sport Partnership and Rumble Live Action Gaming joined forces this June to deliver an unforgettable experience to local schoolchildren -completely free of charge. The initiative was designed to meet one of the School Games Objectives: tackling inequality and ensuring all young people have access to meaningful physical activity.
Each school in the area was offered a free one-hour session at Rumble Live's stunning Rutland Water venue - an award-winning outdoor laser tag experience known for its cutting-edge kit, immersive woodland missions and inclusive ethos. The sessions formed part of Rumble's wider Community Give Back scheme, aiming to make outdoor adventure accessible to all.

Schools were encouraged to nominate students who would benefit most - whether that be Pupil Premium children, SEND children, military families or pupils with an EHCP. This flexible and inclusive approach meant each school could tailor the opportunity to their community's specific needs.
Nine schools jumped at the chance, with up to 30 students per school swapping their classroom for camouflage and the woods. Pupils from all three secondary schools and six local primaries (English Martyrs, Langham, Oakham CofE, Ketton, Cottesmore, and Brooke Hill) got stuck into the action - and the results were heart warming.
Feedback was unanimous: the sessions were a hit. Many students had never experienced anything like Rumble before. For some, it was their first taste of this kind of active play, blending teamwork, problem-solving and outdoor fun in a way that left everyone buzzing. Teachers described it as "transformational", and many are already keen to repeat the experience in the future.
"It was so lovely to see the children trying something new, out in nature and grinning from ear to ear," said one teacher. "The confidence boost and joy it gave them was just brilliant."

This project is a shining example of what can happen when local organisations work together to make a difference. Credit goes to Rumble Live for offering their innovative activity sessions completely free, and to the Rutland School Sport Partnership who made sure the opportunity reached the children who needed it most.
It's initiatives like this that prove just how powerful sport and play can be - not only for physical health, but for building confidence, connection and community.
