Rutland Pork Pie Appreciation Society Meeting - 6 October

The next meeting of the Rutland Pork Pie Appreciation Society will be held at the Grainstore in Oakham on Sunday 6th October at 5pm.

Bakers new and old are welcome and even if you're not a baker, people can come along and try some of the pies on offer.

All proceeds go to EMICS - the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme which is a network of volunteer doctors with specialist training in pre-hospital emergency medicine.

Rutland Pet Festival - 6 October

Rutland Pet Festival takes place on Sunday 6 October (Carolyn Acton Events).

Organised by Carolyn Acton Events, the Rutland Pet Festival takes place at Oakham Castle on Sunday 6 October between 11am and 4pm.

There will be food, drink and gift stalls for humans plus pet stalls and fun competitions.

The competitions run between 11.30am and 3pm and entry costs £2.50 per pet category.

Duran & A Band Called Malice

Originally formed in 1999, Duran have maintained their reputation as one the most respected and established Durn Duran tribute bans in the world. They will be performing at Corn Exchange Theatre on 5 October.

Also performing are A Band Called Malice, who are a The Jam tribute band emulating the antics and energy of the famous mod rockers.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at Fox and Hounds serve up a weekly special every Thursday (Fox & Hounds).

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 3 October, and this week the team are serving up Bulgarian Banski style goulash, Leicestershire suet dumplings and chive sour cream. 

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
