This weekend, there will be music events, a family fun day at Rutland Water, and a fireworks display - all going off with a bang!

Belvoir Castle Firework Champions

On Saturday the 20th of August, Belvoir Castle will be hosting the Firework Champions.

Now in its 14th year at Belvoir Castle – 4 great firework displays!

Three of the UK's best firework companies compete against each other with a 10 minute firework display choreographed to music followed by a larger huge finale display. The types of fireworks being used by the companies are quite different to the material available to the general public, each company uses category 4 fireworks – those that are for professional use only and the biggest available in the UK.

 Gates open for entry at 4pm, with music, interviews and, of course, fireworks scheduled throughout the evening.

Rutland Nature Reserve Family Fun Day - Bugs and Ponds

Rutland Nature Reserve Family Fun Day - Bugs and Ponds begins at 10am on Sunday the 21st of August 2022. 

Drop in with the family for a session of bug hunting and pond dipping followed by craft activities from 10am until 2pm.

Tickets are £4 each and there is no need to book - just turn up at the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre at Egleton.

Grainstore Open Mic Night

Starting at 5:30pm on Sunday the 21st of August, The Grainstore are hosting their monthly Open Mic Night, hosted by local legend CJ Hatt. 

Then come along to the relaunched Open Mic sessions on the third Sunday of every month. Just bring yourself, your instrument, your poems or pom poms and we will do the rest. It's free entry, but come along early and get your name down early so that the team can guarantee you a place.
