Art Exhibition at Rutland County Museum
Launching on Saturday 23rd August and running until 4th October, Rutland County Museum will be home to a special art exhibition showcasing the East Midlands paintings of 19th-century artist, John Louis Petit.
Petit's work was never bought in his life and after his death was handed to relatives where they remained until they were auctioned off. In present day, the importance and cultural relevance of Petit's work has been recognised and this was the first time his pieces have been bought together in one place.
