The local community have come together to share the remaining Automated Teller Machine (ATM) locations in and around Oakham where residents can withdraw cash following the announcement of the closure of Oakham's final bank.

In November 2022, the closure of 114 HSBC branches was announced, including those in Oakham and Stamford. The Oakham branch will close on 20 June 2023.

On Friday 27 January, it was announced that the Oakham branch of Barclays will be closing in April 2023, leaving Oakham with no banks where residents can access their money.

The closure of these banks will also mean the removal of the attached cashpoints, so the local community have come together to share locations in and around Oakham where residents can still access cash.

Local taxi driver, Freddie Fare kicked things off with a social media post sharing a number of ATMs, including whether or not they are 24-hour, and other locals join the thread.

Wilko, High Street, Oakham

Aldi, Hackamore Way, Oakham

BP M&S, Oakham - 24 hours
