The Rutland County Golf Club Seniors match against Burghley Park was washed out after only nine holes. An amicable "half" was agreed as the result.

Holders of the Senior Summer Doubles, John Adkins and Alistair Scott, were knocked out in the first round by Ron Jenkins and Ray Taylor 2 and 1.

The Mike Pell Memorial Trophy was played by 78 seniors on a glorious sunny day.

It was won by Andrew Boyce with 41 points (after count back) Stuart Butler coming 2nd with 41 points (after count back) and John Phipps 3rd with 40 points.

Andrew's handicap was cut from 21 to 17 after his successful week, two shots for the Mike Pell Trophy and two for exceptional scoring after winning the main club competition at the weekend.

Stuart Butler was also cut by two shots and John Phipps by one.
