Two Leicester Tigers players have officially been awarded contracts with England's Red Roses.
The players receiving contracts with the Red Roses have been announced by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and Leicester Tigers players Amy Cokayne and Megan Jones have made the list.
The new contracts, agreed in collaboration with the Rugby Players' Association and player representatives, will cover salaries, match fees, commercial and community engagement initiatives as well as an agreement around revenue sharing if business targets are exceeded.
For the ladies, this also means that they are looking to the Rugby World Cup 2025, with arrangements now being made following the confirmation of contracts.
Vicky Macqueen, Head of Women's Rugby at Leicester Tigers said: "Everyone at Leicester Tigers is delighted to hear that Amy and Meg have been confirmed as contracted players for the Red Roses. This is a hugely exciting time for the Red Roses, especially with our home World Cup on the horizon in 2025. However, we know there is a lot of work to do before then, and we are excited to bring the group together shortly to start preparations for WXV which will be the immediate focus for us all."
Congratulations to Amy and Meg and may the Tigers thrive as the 2023/24 season fast approaches.
