Mechanical Assembler / Fitter

Location: Oakham

Pay Rate: £14 - £16 per hour

Shift: Monday to Friday, Days (Some flexibility on start time)

is working with our client who are a markert specialist in their respected field. Due to winning a large number of contracts our client now requires multiple mechanical assemblers/ fitters to work on a specialist project based in Oakham for a period of 3 6 months. Should you be looking for a mechanical assembler / mechanical fitter role on a day shift with a lot of overtime available this could be the role for you.

Job Description:

As a Mechanical assembler / Mechanical Fitter you will supporting vehicle mechanics in the modification of specialist vehicles. You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks as directed by vehicle mechanics to ensure the efficient assembly and modification of vehicles to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist mechanics with vehicle modifications and assembly tasks.
  • Follow detailed instructions from vehicle mechanics to perform various tasks such as changing wheels on vehicles.
  • Assemble brackets and other components for mechanics to install.
  • Perform basic painting tasks to ensure parts are ready for fitting.
  • Assist with the fitting of parts onto vehicles as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within specified time frames.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a mechanical assembly or fitter role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and modification processes.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for handling and assembling parts.
  • Basic painting skills are an advantage.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
