A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "Officers received a report of a burglary at a property in New Road, Clipsham.

"The incident is believed to have happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday, 1 February.

"Forced entry was made to a window at the house.

"It is reported that jewellery and silverware have been stolen. Enquiries are ongoing to establish details of the items.

"Anyone with any information should call 101 quoting incident 20*61373."

A second home in the village was targeted by burglars several days later when a quantity of valuable antiques and paintings were taken during the break-in.
