Churchill Road's One Stop shop turns 1 today, Saturday 24 June.

On 24 June 2022, a new One Stop shop and Post Office opened on Churchill Road, just off of Braunston Road in Oakham.

The new One Stop shop also brought back the Post Office that had been missed by the local people.

The need for this particular Post Office was made even more acute when, in May 2022, the McColls convenience store chain was under threat of collapse. The closure of this store would have meant that the Post Office in the heart of Oakham would have been lost.

The chain has since been saved by Morrisons, who won the battle against Asda to buy the convenience store chain on the 11th of May 2022.

Since the new One Stop opened in June 2022, the team have been serving the community with a reliable and rotating stock of goods such as kitchen essentials, food, sweets and treats, frozen goods, drinks and more.

When Prime energy drinks were flying off the shelves last year, the shop even managed to source a number of the heavily sought after drinks.
