Today, Wednesday the 9th of March, Rutland Refill Community Interest Company are hosting a Coffee and Cake Day from 10am until 3pm to raise further funds to help support the Ukrainians fleeing the war.

On Tuesday the 8th of March 2022, a group of local people got their aprons on and began baking a huge range of cakes and sweet treats to sell at the Rutland Refill Coffee and Cake Day today!

The Oakham based company hope to sell all of these cakes as well as welcoming donations to help support the people of Ukraine.

The team said: "The cakes all look amazing - some are even decorated with the Ukrainian flag colours! We can't wait to welcome people to join in and donate! Thank you to all who have got involved so far."

Locals have already begun donating to the cause, which is wonderful news and once again shows the true community spirit of the Rutland residents.

The company concluded: "Help us help the refugees by coming down and indulging in some cakes. We also welcome donations."
