Rutland County Council will shortly be implementing a change to on and off-street parking fees.

From 3 June 2024, the price of a one-hour ticket in Council-owned car parks will increase from £1.10 to £1.20. The price of a day ticket will increase from £5.30 to £5.80. Yearly season tickets will rise from £608.30 to £668.

The offer of 30 minutes free parking in all public car parks will remain. Motorcycles will be required to pay in car parks, while Blue Badge holders will be able to park free of charge for up to three hours. Parking in Kilburn Road Coach car park for a 24-hour period has also increased from £5.10 to £5.60.

Administration fees for on-street resident parking permits will increase from £50 to £55. Other on-street permits will increase from £20 to £22. Suspension and dispensation fees will also increase from £37.50 to £45.

Councillor Christine Wise, Portfolio Holder for Transport, Environment and Communities said "Parking charges are important because they help to encourage a healthy turnover of parking spaces for shoppers and visitors, as well as discouraging illegal parking and unnecessary car journeys. The charges also help to pay for the parking service that enforces parking rules."

In addition to contactless payments at ticket machines and RingGo payment options via smartphone, telephone and text, car park users are able to pay by cash or card at PayPoint outlets in both Oakham and Uppingham.

Car park locations as well as more information can be found online.
