Time is running out for people to comment on the Draft Neighbourhood Plan for Oakham and Barleythorpe.
Proposals have been submitted to Rutland County Council for independent examination and now the councils wants people to have a say about them.
The Neighbourhood Plan sets out how Oakham and Barleythorpe should be developed over the period to 2036 and people now have less than a week to comment.
The neighbourhood plan has been prepared by Oakham Town Council and Barleythorpe Parish Council following consultation with the local community.
It includes policies covering design, affordable housing, the town centre and visitor economy, employment and business development and historic heritage and character.
The Draft Plan is being published for six-weeks, with residents encouraged to share their views before 5pm Friday 23rd April 2021.
Comments should be submitted to Rutland County Council during this period, after which they will be considered by an independent examiner.
A copy of the Draft Neighbourhood Plan can be viewed on Rutland County Council's website: www.rutland.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplans
Following this consultation, an independent examiner will consider any comments made and decide whether the proposed Neighbourhood Plan meets basic legal conditions. If these can be met, the Neighbourhood Plan can proceed to a referendum. More than 50% support will be required at the referendum in order to bring the Neighbourhood Plan into force.
