Oakham man denies charge of posting on social media to stir up racial hatred

A man from Oakham appeared in court yesterday charged with posting on social media to stir up racial hatred.

Mark Heath, of Kestrel Road, pleaded not guilty to publishing written material on X (formerly Twitter) which was allegedly abusive and intended to stir up racial hatred.

He appeared at Leicester Crown Court via a link from HMP Leicester and denied the allegations.

A provisional trial date has been set for 21 October.
