Crime issues will be up for discussion at two new policing surgeries in Rutland.

Representatives from Rutland's parish councils are being invited to meet the deputy police and crime commissioner for the area, Rani Mahal.

"These surgeries give me the opportunity to hear first-hand about the community safety issues that affect local communities." explained Councillor Mahal.

"We totally understand that while some problems are universal, every area has different, and sometimes unique, issues."

The first surgery covered issues such as road safety and anti-social behaviour, as well as issues specific to individual parishes.

"I understand that the other surgeries are filling up quickly, which highlights that there is a need for this type of communication," said Councillor Mahal.

Rutland parish councillors have been invited to attend the next two surgeries on 15 February and 15 March 2024.
