Rutland County Council has been forced to postpone its upcoming bus user forum due to an unexpected staffing issue.

People who travel by bus in Rutland are being given the chance to talk to Rutland County Council and ask questions at an open forum to discuss local transport services.

The event was due to take place at the Council's Catmose offices in Oakham from 11.00am on Thursday the 10th of November 2022. It will now be rescheduled and held in January, with a precise date and time to be confirmed.

Passengers can still submit questions in advance of the event by doing one of the following:

  • Collecting a paper form from local libraries in Oakham, Uppingham, Ketton and Ryhall and returning it to library staff
  • Submitting questions by post by writing to: Transport Team, Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham LE15 6HP
  • Emailing questions to: [email protected]

Councillor Rosemary Powell, Cabinet Member for Transport at Rutland County Council, said: "We understand how important local transport services are for those who rely on buses to get around. Operating a rural bus network is particularly challenging right now but we are determined to provide the best service that we can and want to hear from passengers about where they think we can make positive changes."

Passengers who would like further information about this Bus Users Public Meeting can contact Rutland County Council's Transport Team by calling: 01572 758 138 or emailing: [email protected]
