Roadworks set to cause major diversion next week

A road in Greetham will be closed for roadworks next week, resulting in a large diversion.

The road closure, originally scheduled for April, was postponed, and will now take place in May.

Works will be going on from Church Lane to Little Lane on Greetham's Main Street.

It is anticipated that the drainage works will take 12 days, beginning on 16 May and completing on 27 May.

During the closure, a diversion will be in place.

The proposed route is as follows, but is liable to change:

  1. Stretton Road
  2. Hooby Lane Roundabout
  3. Hooby Lane
  4. Stretton Roundabout
  5. A1 Great North Road
  6. A606 Empingham Road
  7. Stamford Road
  8. Audit Hall Road
  9. Whitwell Road
  10. Oakham Road
  11. Barnsdale Hill
  12. Stamford Road Roundabout
  13. Burley Park Way
  14. Burley Road
  15. Cottesmore Road
  16. Main Street
  17. Toll Bar
  18. Greetham Road

The closure will impact The Plough, a popular restaurant, bar and entertainment venue at the heart of the village.
