The Oakham Armed Forces and Veteran's Breakfast Club will be back at The Grainstore Brewery and Tap this weekend marking Armed Forces Day with an extra special iteration of their usual Breakfast Club.

The Breakfast Club are a group of all arms, serving members and veterans of His Majesty's Armed Forces. All serving, ex-serving, and forces connected individuals are welcome.

It was formed in 2018 in memory of an army veteran who took his own life after 24 years of service.

Mark and Tracey Taylor organise the monthly club and are members of the local Armed Forces community who want to ensure that all of their comrades, past and present, have a place to go.

The Club meet regularly at The Grainstore - generally on the first Saturday of every month - and enjoy good food and company and share stories of their service and a good sense of humour.

And this Saturday, 29 June, the group will be at The Grainstore Brewery, hosting an extra breakfast morning to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

This session will offer a little more than the regular sessions, with a buffet style breakfast as well as a number of Military support networks in attendance, raising awareness and supporting local military personnel and veterans.

In addition, the team will be celebrating their sixth year of running this August.
