The Rutland community Fridge team are looking for volunteers to join their merry band of pick up volunteers.
Rutland Community Fridge is a community-led initiative from the local charity, Root-and-Branch Out to prevent food going to landfill.
Residents are encouraged to donate as they can in return for food that has reached its sell by date from local supermarkets and stores.
The Oakham Community Fridge runs from Oakham Station on a Friday from 10 - 11:30am, and the Uppingham Fridge can be found at Uppingham Town Hall from 1:30 - 3pm on Friday.
Now, they are looking for volunteers to help with their Friday morning collections.
The pick up team collect food goods from Melton Mowbray and deliver to Oakham each Friday morning. You must be able to perform these duties frequently, as the community fridge goes ahead every Friday morning at Oakham Station from 10 - 11:30am.
You must be able to collect early on Friday morning, well before the Community Fridge session begins.
If you would like to join the Rutland Community Fridge volunteer team, please contact the team on, [email protected].
