Rutland garden lovers can enjoy two fantastic gardens

Two fantastic Rutland and Leicestershire gardens will be open to the public shortly as part of a national fundraising campaign.

Every year the National Gardens Scheme opens more than 3600 gardens to the public and raises money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.

The scheme made an annual donation of £2.88 million in 2020. Its core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen's Nursing Institute.

In the coming weeks people can enjoy The Old Hall, Market Overton.

It promises a A large garden full of herbaceous borders, shrubs, young and mature trees. The garden is divided into several different areas and also contains a Japanese Tea House.

Sunday 25th April 2pm - 6pm (£5 entry, children free)

Burrough Hall at Burrough on the Hill, west of Oakham, promises a classic Leicestershire hunting lodge built in 1867 with family garden and far-reaching views.

Its is open on Sunday 9th May 2pm - 5pm (£4 entry, children free)

These openings can be attended with a ticket either purchased in advance on the National Garden Scheme website or at the gate on the day.
