This year, St Mary's Church in Melton was beautifully adorned with over 230 floor trees and 15 window trees, all decorated by local schools, clubs, charities, organisations and businesses.

Entries included from Oakham and Melton charity Pepper's A Safe Place, the local beaver pack and Leicestershire and Rutland Fire and Rescue Service.

The festival ran between the 6th and 10th December, with over 1,700 votes cast for the best tree in the festival. It was a tight competition with only four votes separating the winner from second place.

The winning tree was created by Sugar Shamrocks, made entirely of cake by sisters Naomi and Dionne Yeandle.

The tree had to be transported to St Mary's in three pieces, with most of it being edible. The tree now has pride of place at Sugar Shamrocks on Sherrard Street, Melton.

Second place was taken by the beautiful wedding dress tree by Fleur's Floristry.
