Rutland Police make arrests in fight against A class drugs

Rutland Police have made arrests following a crackdown on Class A drugs being brought into Rutland.

After welcoming concerns from local people, the local policing team have been tackling the distribution of Class A drugs across the county, resulting in a successful weekend of action.

Sergeant Palmer from Rutland Police explained: "Local Officers from a variety of departments joined together yesterday evening to hunt down some of those suspected of bringing Class A drugs into the Rutland policing area."

Within the operation a number of vehicles were stopped and three vehicles seized and removed from the road.

Three people were arrested from two different cars for supply of Class A drugs and large quantities of cash and Class A drugs were seized.

In addition, one driver was reported for driving whilst disqualified.

Sergeant Palmer added: "The investigations are ongoing and evidence is being prepared to place in front of the CPS.

"Fantastic work all around and further evidence of your local Police acting on your concerns!"
