Storm Babet has hit the UK, and the local policing team have warned drivers as floods develop across the county.
There have been reports of flooding in Langham on Cold Overton Road, on Ashwell Road by Rutland Garden Centre and at the Kilburn Road-Station Road junction in Oakham.
Nub News readers have also reported that the Oakham-Langham canal is high, and Eye Brooke is close to bursting its banks.
As such, the local policing team have warned local road users to take care and watch their speed as the storms continue today and into the weekend.
They said: "We are currently aware of a number of roads in Rutland being closed off due to significant rainfall and are liaising with Rutland County Council Highways to add advanced warnings for road users where required.
"If the road is deep with water please do not attempt to pass as this will place you in a dangerous position of getting trapped."
At 1:30pm, Rutland County Council added that adverse weather conditions have caused severe flooding on some of Rutland's highways. Rutland County Council has therefore put in emergency road closures for Main Street, Whissendine and the A606 Melton Road, Langham.
These roads are closed with immediate effect and further communications will be shared as and when the situation changes.
Due to the heavy rainfall Rutland County Council has also had to close the accessibility toilet at the bus station in Oakham this morning due to significant water ingress.
As of 4pm Main Street in Whissendine, Stamford Road in King's Cliffe and the A47 roundabout between Upton and Sutton are also suffering from floods, resulting in closures.
The A47 at Morcott, A6003 between Uppingham and Preston and Wood Lane in Braunston are also seeing disruptions due to heavy rain.
Updated at noon on 21 October, most roads are clear, although there is still standing water on the A606 through Langham.
Oakham Road from Ashwell to Langham is also remains very wet.
Roads across the county are still damp, and the police are reminding drivers to take care on the roads.
