You are invited to have a key role in influencing how a range of local NHS services are developed, improved and delivered.
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) is looking for people - who have experience of using our community, mental health and learning disability services - to take up one of three types of roles - a Lived Experience Partner, Patient Safety Partner or to join the People's Council.
As a Lived Experience Partner you will work alongside clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, and carers, and through personal experience and expertise, you will provide insight into the design, improvement and delivery of the services we provide. You will take part in quality improvement programmes, governance committees, as well as other activities, including training, recruitment, and input into academic papers.
Specific opportunities include working with the Families, Young People and Children's, and Learning Disability and Autism Directorate, which provides a wide range of services to local people. The group are looking for three people with lived experience of these services to work alongside their group managers and senior clinicians, ensuring the lived experiences of a wide range of local people shape the teams' plans and the services offered.
The Patient Safety Partner is a new and evolving role developed by NHS England to help improve patient safety across health care in the UK. The team are excited to introduce two new Patient Safety Partners at LPT to work alongside their staff, patients, and families to influence and improve safety within the Trust. Partners can be patients, carers, or family members who have lived experience of using NHS services. These roles would suit those who are interested in helping us learn as an organisation.
They created their People's Council in 2021 to provide them with an independent voice to help the Trust ensure that their services are great for all. The People's Council Lived Experience Partner role will work alongside clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, and carers, and will use personal experience and expertise to provide insight into the design, improvement and delivery of the services provided by the LPT.
Alison Kirk, head of patient experience and involvement at LPT, said: "At LPT, we believe that patients and carers can be influential partners in driving, delivering, and supporting change and improving services. We want to collaborate with patients, their carers, and families as equal partners to enable us to deliver high quality healthcare services.
"For each of these roles your personal and professional expertise, gained through your experience and insight of using our services, will be invaluable to us as we continue to create high quality, compassionate care and well-being for all."
More information and application packs for all the roles are available on the LPT website under the Involving You section.
The closing date for applications is Friday 30 June 2023.
