An Oakham charity shop was targeted by thieves yesterday (Thurs) who stole a donated Apple iPod.

The device was taken from Headway charity shop, in Market Place.

Shop Manager Isabelle Andrews told Oakham Nub News: "Yesterday, a 6th generation Apple iPod was stolen from the Headway Charity Shop.

"At this time, we have no details as to who may have committed this crime.

"As a charitable organisation, we were saddened to find that an individual or individuals had stolen from the store.

"However, such crimes are a rare occurrence and we are continually overwhelmed by the generosity and support, offered by the Rutland community."

The stolen iPod had a £70 price ticket - money which would have been used to continue Headway's work to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services.

The charity also lobbies for better support and resources to be made available to people affected by brain injury and works to raise awareness of brain injury and the devastating effects it can have.
