Enjoy a range of festive events on the run up to Christmas this week in Oakham...

Festive Mini Golf and Winter Wonderland Trail

Shake up your Christmas plans and join the team at Sykes Lane, Rutland Water for a festive game of crazy golf, with plenty of magical surprises along the way. 

The adventure doesn't stop there! Get exploring the wonderfully wintery wildlife trail and leave with your very own festive surprise.

10:00am to 3:00pm daily until 1 January 2023.

There is no need to book- just turn up, pay and explore for only £5 per child (Golf – £4 per adult).

Admiral Hornblower Christmas sing-a-long

At 7:30pm on Wednesday 21 December 2022, join the Admiral Hornblower team for a festive sing-a-long to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Winter Interest in the Garden Talk at Gates Garden Centre

On Thursday 22 December from 10am – 10:45am, enjoy a free talk at Gates Garden Centre.

This talk will be held in glasshouse one and will last approximately 45 mins, where Gates Plant Specialists will guide you through a selection of winter flowering plants and shrubs that are ideal for garden borders or containers. They will also offer helpful advice on how to provide colour and interest in your garden during the winter months.

Ovation Christmas sing-a-long

Ovation are hosting their Christmas Sing-a-Long evening on the 22nd of December 2022 from 6:30pm onwards.

Join the team and the talented RAW The Band for a fun and festive evening of music, drinks and an all round good time.

Old Buttercross Christmas Party

Start your Christmas off right by joining The Old Buttercross team for their party night including a Gary Barlow tribute act!

Jon Fisher will be joining the team as Gary Barlow on the 23rd of December 2022 from 7pm! For £25pp you'll get a Christmas cocktail, party platter, and to watch Gary rule the world!

Crib Service at All Saints' Church

Celebrate Christmas by joining the team at All Saints' Church for their Family Crib Service.

All are welcome from 4pm at All Saints' Church, Church Street, Oakham, Rutland.

Christmas Eve at Barnsdale Lodge

A warm welcome awaits you at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel with mulled wine and Stilton.

Enjoy Christmas carols with Exton Village Choir around the Christmas tree between 6-7pm, after which dinner will be served between 7–9pm.

Midnight mass will be held in several local churches.

Comedy Night at The Grainstore

Funhouse Comedy Club is back at the Grainstore Brewery, Oakham on Thursday December 29th for a night full of laughter.

Topping the bill is Alfie Moore who has appeared on ITV's 'Show Me The Funny' and 'The Wright Stuff'.

Opening the night will be slightly camp, middle-class funnyman Hal Cruttenden. Having a background in professional acting he has made numerous TV appearances, including 'Live at The Apollo', 'Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow', 'The Royal Variety Performance', and more.

Completing the line-up is Perrier Award Nominee Simon Bligh, who works all over the world and has made several appearances on TV and Radio.

Compere for the night will be the quick-witted and likeable Paul Revill.

Tickets are £12 in advance

Doors open at 6:15pm, and last orders for food will be taken at 7.15pm for the 8:00pm show.
