What's on in Oakham this weekend: half-term family fun, winter wine tasting, and a community quiz night

Enjoy a range of family-friendly, couples, and solo events in and around Oakham this weekend, with a great selection of both indoor and outdoor events on offer to accommodate the Great British weather!

Halloween half-term fun at Rutland Farm Park

Despite renovations and improvements that are going ahead at the popular family attraction, Rutland Farm Park are opening every day of the week over half-term and hosting a range of activities to keep the kids entertained. 

These include:

  • A Halloween Treasure Hunt
  • Daily Guinea Pig cuddles @ 11am
  • Daily Groom a Pony @11:30am

You can also purchase a Halloween goody bag from the farm to enjoy when you get home.

Rounding off the week, the team welcome families to join their 'Octobaa' Family Fun Day from 11am until 3pm on Saturday the 22nd of October.

There will be lots going on including a scavenger hunt, face painting, arts and crafts, fun games and story telling sessions.

Bat and Bottle Wine Tasting at Oakham Castle

Awarded Decanter's best Italian Wine Merchant in the UK, Oakham-based, Bat and Bottle Wine Merchants are hosting their annual Oakham Winter Wine Tasting on Friday October 21st 2022, 7pm - 9.30pm.

This lavish but affordable event will take place in the Great Hall, at Oakham Castle. Castle Grounds, Market Place, Oakham LE15 6DT.

Tickets are £15 on the door, but only £10 if bought in advance.

Included in the price of this ticket is a voucher for a £15 discount on orders over £100 placed by 14/11/22.

Moments of Peace Exhibition

Rutland Photographer, Alan Walters, in conjunction with Stamford Diversity Group will be hosting an exhibition recognising the Ukrainian people and refugees living in the UK.

The exhibition is titled 'Moments of Peace', Refugees: What's It Like To Flee Your Home.

This exhibition will be going ahead from Tuesday the 18th until Saturday the 22nd of October, at Stamford Arts Centre exhibitions.

Oakham in Bloom Quiz Night

Come and join Oakham in Bloom for their quiz night, raising money to support their continued work within the community!

The cost for the quiz night with a fish and chip dinner included is only £12.50pp, and guests are welcome to bring their own drinks.

This event will be taking place on October the 22nd from 7pm at All Saints' Church Hall, Church Street.
