Roman Archaeology Finds Day!
Rutland County Museum
Culture
UNTIL Wednesday 27th July
Come and celebrate all things Roman and archaeology at our Roman Archaeology Finds Day!
This event is suitable for all the family. Not only will we have some fabulous Roman mosaic inspired crafts (£2.50), but we have the wonderful ULAS (University of Leicester Archaeology Services) on hand during the day with some great hands on archaeology activities.
This is a great opportunity to find out more about the recently discovered Roman Villa site and the work ULAS have been doing on site recently.
Our local Finds Liaison Officer for the Portable Antiquities Scheme will be on hand to chat about how the scheme records local archaeological finds along with the Treasure process.
The local fieldwalking group are coming along so you can see what they do and how they help to give a better understanding of archaeological activity in Rutland.
The event is Free to attend, there is a small charge of £2.50 for any child wishing to take part in the mosaic crafts.
