The 11th Rutland CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) Beer Festival took place this weekend, leaving attendees with fond memories and a deeper appreciation for the art of brewing.

Held in the county town of Oakham, this year's festival brought together beer enthusiasts, local brewers and community members for a weekend of tasting, learning and celebrating.

The festival featured over 60 real ales, ciders and perries, showcasing the diversity and creativity of local and regional brewers. From traditional bitters and pale ales to experimental brews infused with unique ingredients, there was something for every palate.

Local businesses sponsored kegs, The Plough in Greetham supplied food - having to take a trip out to replenish their supplies on the first day of the festival - and Rutland residents enjoyed the huge range of drinks on offer.

Highlights included offerings from well-known local breweries such as the Grainstore Brewery and Bakers Dozen, as well as exciting new entries from up-and-coming brewers, and even some wines and gins from Mallard Point.

Beyond the impressive array of beverages, the Rutland CAMRA Beer Festival is renowned for its warm, community-focused atmosphere. The festival was held at the Rutland County Museum, providing a historical backdrop that added to the charm of the event.

Visitors were treated not just to great drinks, but also to live music, local food vendors, and a variety of entertainment options, ensuring a vibrant and festive ambiance.

Volunteers, most of whom are CAMRA members, played a crucial role in the festival's success.

They supported the smooth running of the festival and collected left over tokens for this year's chosen charity, LOROS. LOROS provides free care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers across Leicestershire and Rutland.
