Normanton Church is being lit up every evening as a reminder to the local community to stay 'strong and united' and a tribute to the invaluable contribution of NHS and frontline workers.

The Anglian Water-owned venue is now closed - along with the entire Rutland Water site - to help limit the spread of coronavirus.

But Normanton Church still has a role to play in lifting the spirits of Rutlanders and those from further afield.

An Anglian Water spokesman said: "As a symbol of solidarity, a beacon of hope and a thank you to all our NHS & frontline workers during these unprecedented times, Normanton Church will be illuminated each evening to shine a light on all that you do.

"We hope that this beacon of light will serve as a reminder that we are a strong and united community who can provide support to those that need it."
