There are a range of full-time jobs available this week in Oakham, from roles with the local council to opportunities in retail and customer care.

  1. Rutland County Council

Rutland County Council is seeking a new Director of Legal and Governance, who will ensure that the Council has effective corporate governance arrangements in place.

The role is full-time, offering 37 hours per week, on a permanent basis.

Salary will be £78 – 81,000 per year.

The post is at the heart of the Council's Senior Leadership Team, and is the Council's statutory Monitoring Officer and Data Protection Officer as well as leading and managing the services listed below:

  1. Gates Garden Centre

Gates Garden Centre are looking for an Ecommerce Assistant to join the multi-channel sales and marketing team.

The role will be full-time, working Monday to Friday.

The salary is unspecified, although can be discussed upon application.

Working in Gates' modern, newly built offices, the Ecommerce Assistant will be responsible for the presentation and management of products on the website. This will involve writing engaging content in order to increase sales and retaining knowledge of Gates' range of products with a specific focus on their core gardening category, including plants and associated products.

Your key responsibilities:

Create original, compelling product and category descriptions for the website

Liaise with supplies for product information

Improve search engine position by creating and optimising product listings to help increase sales conversions

Ensure product information and pricing is accurate

Assist with the day-to-day trading activities of the website

Update and maintain the website creative, copy and promotional messaging

Work with the eCommerce and Core Gardening team to create and populate categories based on search demand, trends and seasonal priorities

Promote new, top-selling, or seasonal products as required

React to stock levels & ensure that the website is updated accordingly to prevent overselling. Must Have Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Personable and able to develop strong, effective relationships

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently, as well as in a team

Comfortable interpreting data in spreadsheets

Pro-active, creative and able to come up with ideas to help develop the business. "Previous experience as a Product Lister in eCommerce would be great, as well as experience using Adobe Photoshop, WordPress and Woo Commerce.   1. Lands' End

Do you have great customer service skills? Do you have recent experience within a customer service/retail environment?

Lands' End are looking for temporary staff to work remotely or onsite as Customer Sales Advisors.

The Call Centre is open from 8am – 10pm, 7 days a week. Your working hours can be flexible but must include at least 1 evening (working until 10pm) and 1 weekend shift per week.

Contracts are Full Time (30 hours per week) however, Lands' End can offer some flexibility with 40 hours where required, for the right candidate.

These positions start on a temporary basis with a view to become permanent following a successful temporary period.

Salary will be £9.09p per hour, with a targeted pay increase available.

Call centre experience would be preferred but is not essential as full training is provided. The company also have a great range of benefits – including employee discount, health care, free eye tests and more.

Training for this role will be 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday from 28th February to 11th March. These dates are compulsory.

The job:

Answer a variety of inbound customer calls (no sales or outbound calls)

Take orders and assist customers with their queries

Support costumers in their day to day life

If working from home, you must have a space or area to work where you will not be distracted from other members of the household

PC and Telephone equipment will be provided, however, you must have a suitable desk and chair and be able to work using an Ethernet cable directly from your router.
