Oakham: Three exciting new jobs in education and care in Oakham this week

We have a range of roles in education available this week, from nursery to secondary school level, including roles in SEN and boarding care.

  1. Uppingham School

Uppingham School are looking for a full-time library co-ordinator to join the team in January.

The ideal candidate will support teaching and learning at Uppingham School and will feel confident in assisting with the day to day running of the library.

Uppingham School Library is an inspiring environment for pupils to focus on research and explore new ideas. The books are the core of the collection, along with a range of online databases, to ensure that our pupils access the latest and best resources to support their academic studies and reading for pleasure.

Your key responsibilities include:

Supervising pupils during their private study and recreational reading

Checking materials in and out and filing or replacing returned items

Cataloguing new materials

Offering guidance to develop pupils research skills

Guiding pupils on the choice of literature to meet their curricular and leisure needs

Assisting and promoting special events to encourage reading and independent learning

The ideal candidate will:

Be ICT literate, with the ability to supervise pupils effectively

Work well as part of a team, with good communication and organisation skills

  1. Tinies

Tinies are actively assisting a nursery in Oakham, Rutland, to recruit a term time only Level 3 Nursery Nurse. This is for a small Nursery that is based within the grounds of a local primary school with access to local countryside and school facilities, details of which to be given on application.

The Nursery is Ofsted rated "Good" and delivers provision for children aged 1 – 4 years old.

Salary would be £9 per hour, with the role covering 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is term time only with an immediate start.

Nursery Nurse responsibilities would include:

Provide care to young children and their families

Working knowledge of EYFS

Conduct child observations

Update development records

Adhere to policies and procedures

Work well as a member of a team

Effective Communicator

Child protection and safeguarding

Nursery Nurse requirements are:

Level 3 Early Years qualification

Experience in Early Years Settings

  1. Wilds Lodge School
Wilds Lodge School, Rutland, are looking to appoint a new Therapeutic Boarding colleague to assist in the day to day running of the school. Salary for this role is £22,000 per annum, plus 12 weeks paid annual leave during school holidays, to start as soon as possible.
