Police tackle road offences, drugs and more in Rutland
Rutland Police are tackling a range of issues in the local area, from reports of road traffic accidents to theft and intent to steal, and local drugs use.
Throughout February, the team have dealt with:
- Theft
- Sheep worrying
- Intent to Steal
Range Rover Theft has been a key issue this month, with vehicles being stolen from Langham and Oakham. Read more here.
Whilst out on the beat this week, PC Lauren Lyall completed local patrols around areas of concern, including:
- Braunston Road CO-OP
- Oakham Castle grounds
- Oakham Train Station
- Kilburn End
PC Lyall said: "Whilst doing this I spoke to a member of the public in relation to his driving, his vehicle was all checked over by our control room and luckily for him everything was ok, after a quick chat he left and got on with his journey.
"Whilst on my patrols I responded to a report of a female who had been hit by a moving vehicle, once I had got to the scene it wasn't as reported and after speaking to the female who was safe and well I got back to my Patrols."
The team have also asked individuals with information about drug dealing in the local area to contact 101 of speak to an officer when you see them out and about.
The team concluded: "We as the Rutland Policing Team look forward to seeing you this week whilst on patrol, please don't hesitate to come and say hello."
