Leicestershire Police have warned rural communities of a suspicious vehicle following sightings in farm buildings and workshops.

A dark blue Volkswagen has been spotted, using a variety of number plates, accessing workshops and farm buildings across the country.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "We have received reports of a dark blue VW Sharan on Polish plates B8 86314, although it's right hand drive. It has also been seen on UK plates - GR04NUZ. The vehicle has been on farms with up to 5 Eastern European occupants.

"The vehicle has been all over the county and further afield where the occs have been entering workshops & farm buildings. Please call 999 if seen on farm and secure any CCTV images if possible. Always report something if it doesn't look right."

The team have asked residents to report any suspicious activity to them, and to share on social media only after this has been done, and the sighting been logged.

For anything non emergency, the team can be contacted via email [email protected] or on 101.

In an emergency, they should be contacted on 999.
