Selected from thousands of nominations, Casterton College has won a major award.
The college, based in Great Casterton, says it been honoured as one of the Pearson National Teaching Silver Award winners across the country.
Casterton College was one of only 3 schools across the UK to be honoured with a Silver Award in The Award for Making a Difference - Secondary School of the Year for their outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children they work with every day.
The college posted on social media: "Casterton College Rutland is proud to be comprehensive, with 12% of students from services families, and with extremely high outcomes. It is a school that does things differently by putting staff first, prioritising mental health and ensuring young people are ready to take on the world.
"The school has grown 30% in 4 years and is now hugely oversubscribed. When the pandemic came, school leaders made staff health their priority, and the staff made children's well-being theirs. The result was a school which emerged stronger than ever before."
The post further revealed: "Casterton College has now been shortlisted to win one of just 15 Gold Awards later in the year, in a programme which will be broadcast on the BBC.
"This is a great opportunity to celebrate the exceptional school staff who have worked wonders during an incredibly challenging time for educators across the country. #workingtogether #thankyoueveryone #wecouldntdoitwithoutyou #PleaseShare ðŸ'ðŸ»ðŸ'ðŸ»
