Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Oakham.

The Rutland policing team are looking for witnesses to an assault that took place in Church Street, just after 11.30pm on Friday 16 June 2023.

A man in his 30s was attacked and suffered facial injuries.

As a result of enquiries, a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has since been released on bail.

Detective Constable Ollie Watson, the investigating officer, said: "From enquiries carried out to date, I know there were quite a few people in Church Street at the time the incident happened. I also know that the man who may have carried out the attack was wearing a hi-viz vest and was with another man.
