A Rutland-based pub are supporting Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance with live music, a raffle, and birthday bash for three pub locals this weekend.

On Saturday 11 March, The Plough in Greetham are hosting a public birthday bash for three of their favourite locals, Roly, Robin and Chris - "a.k.a. Grandad to those of us who use the pub".

As a part of their fundraising efforts, The Plough are hosting two bands, one of which is the band of one of the birthday boys himself, Robin. 

Robin's band, 'Black Jack', as well as 'Greetham's Own' will be performing from 7:30pm and are popular favourites at the country pub.

The Plough in Greetham is a hive of activity within the village community, enjoyed by locals as well as regulars from the surrounding villages, offering week day meal deals, burgers and pizza nights, monthly themed evenings, bingo night and much more.

The venue was taken over nearly 4 years ago and has jumped from strength-to-strength, in December 2022 winning CAMRA's Pub of the Season award for outstanding beers.

They often participate in fundraising activities, recently having donated £85 with the help of their patrons to the National Military Working Dogs Memorial UK.

Now, they are once again donning their fundraising caps for an evening of entertainment, birthday celebrations, and fundraising on behalf of the local Air Ambulance team.

As a part of these celebrations, they will also be holding an auction which will include their Air Ambulance Paramedic bear:
