Take your mum, nan, favourite mother or mother-figure out this Sunday to celebrate Mothering Sunday 2024.

This year, Mothering Sunday in the UK is on 10 March, and a host of local venues are getting ready to make the most of a busy weekend celebrating mothers across the county.

Mothering Sunday has been celebrated as far back as the 16th century as a day of worship during Lent, the Christian fasting period. Incorporating the day as Mother's Day is a recent addition, but it seems that the nation jumps at every chance to celebrate our mothers.

This weekend, take your mum for a hearty snack or sweet treat and a stroll around Rutland Farm Park.

Mother's Day Lunch at The Plough

On Sunday 10 March, The Plough in Greetham are hosting a Mother's Day Sunday Lunch, and all mums get a free glass of fizz!

From 12 - 4pm, The Plough will be welcoming mums from across Rutland to enjoy a free glass of fizz with their ever-popular Sunday Roast - a special treat this Mother's Day!
