Santa Clause is coming to town
Rutland Lions Club is launching their annual Santa drive this weekend.
Santa will be stopping at houses in Uppingham and Oakham from Thursday until Sunday, with more fun to come as Christmas approaches.

Quiz Night at The Plough
The Plough's weekly quiz night will be taking place ahead of the weekend on Thursday 14 December. It will be taking place early at 7:30pm this week, as the team are welcoming the Rutland Morris Men for their Christmas Play at 9pm on Thursday too!
The event costs £1 per person to enter, max 6 person per team.
Winning team get a round of drinks, and all teams go into a draw to crack the safe, so you don't even have to 'know it all' to be in with a chance to win big.
The team will also be hosting not one but two bands on Saturday 16 December 2023.

The Fox and Hounds Meal Deal
The Fox and Hounds will be hosting their £12 Thursday special again on 14 December.
This week's delightful dish will be a yummy chicken tikka curry with rice and a naan - and you can enjoy a £3 Atlantic Pale Ale and other discounted drinks too!

Farmers Market
Head down to Gaol Street on 16 December to enjoy the monthly farmers market in the heart of Oakham - the last of 2024!
Buy fresh produce, crafts and gifts, or indulge in cooked food and meats direct from the farmers.
See you there from 8:30am - 2pm.
D'Ukes Christmas Concert
Set in the historic and spectacular surroundings of the Great Hall of Oakham Castle, The D'ukes of Rutland are performing a free Christmas entertainment on Saturday 16 December at 1.30pm.
They will be covering songs recorded by a range of artists from Bing Crosby to Steppenwolf, and the Beatles to Roy Orbison. The twenty or so D'ukes are accompanied by musical friends on bass, cajon and banjo. Don't expect George Formby think more George Harrison a real ukulele oficionado.
The concert starts at 1.30 but it's best to be a little earlier as seating is limited in the Great Hall. Castle Cafe is open for refreshments and the Castle staff will rearrange the courtroom furniture so you have the chance to enjoy the concert from the dock!
Afternoon Tea with Santa
On 16 December, Rutland Farm Park is hosting an Afternoon Tea with Santa event on the farm.
Enjoy a walk around the farm before sitting down with Santa from 3pm until 5pm.
